Volkswagen has revealed a sketch to us showcasing the design language of their upcoming model. The German car maker has christened its all-new product as 'Arteon'. So far, only the side profile has been revealed with no images of the front or rear design elements.
Arteon by Volkswagen will be showcased to the general public at the Geneva motor show. The all-new VW Arteon will be launched sometime during 2017-end. Volkswagen's new Arteon will be their latest flagship and will sit above their Passat model.
So far, Volkswagen has not revealed the engine options powering the Arteon model. It is most likely to feature a petrol engine and VW is expected to stay away from diesel engines for a while. Both manual, as well as automatic transmissions, will be provided in the Arteon.
Volkswagen confirms that its Arteon will be their most beautiful looking 4-door saloon. The radiator grille is extended into the three-dimensional headlights with LED. Front-end will have an imposing and striking fascia for a premium and upmarket feel.
The words Arteon comprise of two syllables. Simply ‘Art' stands for the premium and unique styling of the vehicle. While ‘Eon' stands for VW's latest vehicle naming strategy as they have named their Chinese premium model as ‘Phideon'.
