Delhi Reports 70% Drop In Vehicle Registrations — Thanks To Blackmoney Blackout!
The transport department said that demonetisation has made a huge impact in vehicle registration.
Delhi is a city where over 1,500 vehicles get registered every day. Since November 8, the number has come down drastically, thanks to demonetisation of large currency in the country.
With the 500 and 1,000 Rupee notes gone, people are confused about paying the registration fee. Reports claim that the dealers had reported the same.
"Some of the registrations are taking place but the number is minuscule. Registrations have almost stopped in the 13 RTOs in the city," said a police official.
Delhi has an approximate of 88.27 lakh registered, which is way ahead than Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai put together.
