Volkswagen Ditches 'Das Auto' Advertising Slogan

Volkswagen has decided to drop its 'Das Auto' advertising slogan in the wake of the public relations thrashing over the emissions scandal.
The 'Das Auto' slogan was launched in 2007 and simply means 'The Car' under former boss Martin Winterkorn, but has been criticized it as out of step with a company trying to show new-found humility after the disaster of the 'dieselgate scandal.'
The 'Das Auto' tagline will be replaced by 'Volkswagen', hardly a radical change.
