Patrick Tambay Visits Maranello After 30 Years
Patrick Tambay, the French former racing driver visited Maranello after almost 30 years. During his visit, he met Deputy Chairman Piero Ferrari.
After that, he took a tour of several of the company's departments, like the new GES Racing facility and and also the eight-cylinder production lines.
Tambay visited Scuderia Ferrari's new headquarters, the simulator and the new engine assembly section. He was interested particularly with the LaFerrari and the brand new V8 488 GTB, which was unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show.
The former racing driver said, "LaFerrari looks like it was born purely for the track: it's incredible and its performance levels are easily on a par with its beauty. The 488 GTB's lines are instantly seductive. When you look at it, particularly in profile, you really feel the design takes into account that it will have to do battle with other constructors' cars on the world's circuits."
Patrick Tambay, who is currently 65, competed in 123 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, winning twice, securing 5 pole positions and scoring a total of 103 Championship points.
