Volvo Auto India has launched the updated version of its popular mid-size luxury SUV, the XC60, priced at Rs 71.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This model, already a top-seller for Volvo globally and in India, now boasts improvements in design, technology, and performance. Here are the five key highlights of the refreshed Volvo XC60.

The exterior of the XC60 has been refined for a more contemporary look. It features a new front grille with diagonal slats reminiscent of the latest XC90. Also, two new colours, Mulberry Red and Forest Lake, enhance its visual appeal.

Interior Enhancements
Inside, the XC60 offers significant technological and luxury upgrades. The 11.2-inch infotainment system is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Cockpit Platform for faster performance and supports OTA updates. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with integrated Google services and voice assistance. High-end materials like Nappa leather, genuine wood trim, and a crystal gear selector add to its luxurious feel.
Uprated Features
The XC60 is equipped with numerous features that boost comfort and convenience. These include four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an air purification system, and improved cupholders. A 1410-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 15 speakers provides premium audio quality. Additionally, the front seats offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
Powertrain Details
The updated XC60 retains its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine but now includes a 48V mild-hybrid system. This setup delivers 247bhp and 360Nm of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. The SUV supports E20 fuel and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds.
Competition
In India, the Volvo XC60 competes with luxury SUVs such as the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Lexus NX 300h. That said, Volvo assembles the XC60 at its Bengaluru plant as a Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) unit like other models in its Indian lineup. With over 2.7 million units sold worldwide, it remains Volvo's most successful model globally.
