Hyundai Inster Electric SUV Could Be A Game-Changer: Everything We Know So Far
Hyundai's upcoming compact electric vehicle, named the Inster, will make its global debut later this month at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea. The Inster, inspired by 'innovative' and 'intimate', will be known as 'Casper Electric' in Korea.
This new electrified model from the South Korean automaker is based on the existing Casper SUV and this model aims to set "new standards" in driving range, features, and technology.

Design & Exterior Features
The Inster measures just under four metres in length, as such, this model is clearly designed to navigate through tight urban environments. This will make the model an attractive option for an urban user.
Key exterior elements include round-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, pixel-graphic turn indicators inspired by the Ioniq 5, horizontal LED tail lamps with square finishes, and functional roof rails. It features a front-mounted charging port, newly designed four-spoke alloy wheels, and black-finished fenders to enhance its SUV-like appeal.

That being said, the overall length of the Inster is slightly more than the ICE Casper, and a bold Inster badge is placed on the tailgate to distinguish it from its counterpart. The teasers show its remarkable resemblance to the IC-engined Casper, making it a familiar yet advanced addition to Hyundai's lineup.
Interior & Features
No interior details have been revealed, but the Inster is expected to share many features with the Casper. Anticipated elements include a touchscreen infotainment display with connectivity options, an all-digital instrument console, a three-spoke steering wheel, and automatic climate control. It aims for high sales volumes with a price under €20,000 (approximately Rs 18 lakh).

Technical Specifications
The Hyundai Inster will feature an integrated drive module from BorgWarner and is expected to offer a driving range of just under 400km on a single charge. This will make the upcoming Hyundai Inster an attractive choice for anyone looking for a compact EV with a decent range.
DriveSpark Thinks
While Hyundai plans to launch a Creta-based EV in India early next year, it remains uncertain if an Exter-based electric SUV will materialise. However, the brand is also working on an EV set for release in 2026.
