Hyundai Teases INSTER Electric Vehicle: Innovative Design Meets Eco-Friendly Range
SEOUL, June 11, 2024 – Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the first official teaser images of its new A-segment sub-compact electric vehicle (EV), named INSTER. The name INSTER is derived from "intimate" and "innovative," reflecting the evolution from the Korea-only, petrol-powered CASPER introduced in 2021.
The initial images reveal a robust yet compact SUV profile featuring signature LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and tail lamps. These elements define the new sub-compact EV’s design identity. Hyundai has also outlined INSTER’s targeted maximum range of 355 km (WLTP) on a single charge.
INSTER is set to establish new standards in driving range, technology, and safety features for vehicles in its class. The teaser images showcase a design that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. The pixel styling elements are particularly notable, adding a modern touch to the vehicle's overall look.
INSTER will make its official debut at the Busan International Mobility Show later this month. This event will provide a platform for Hyundai to showcase the vehicle's capabilities and design to a global audience.
Technical Specifications
Hyundai has projected that INSTER will have a maximum range of 355 km (WLTP) on a single charge. This range positions INSTER as a competitive option in the sub-compact EV market, offering substantial driving distance without frequent recharging.
Market Positioning
In Korea, INSTER will be badged as CASPER Electric, continuing the legacy of the CASPER model introduced in 2021. This rebranding aligns with Hyundai's strategy to offer tailored products for different markets while maintaining a consistent global identity.
