BYD eMax 7 – Top Things You Need To Know

BYD India has introduced the eMax7 MPV, a 3-row electric vehicle available in two trims: Premium and Superior. The Premium trim starts at Rs 26.90 lakh, while the Superior is priced at Rs 29.90 lakh.

The eMax7 is essentially an updated version of the e6 MPV, featuring exterior tweaks, powertrain enhancements, and a comprehensive feature list. It replaces the e6 in BYD India's lineup and offers both 6- and 7-seat configurations. Bookings began on September 20 with a token amount of Rs 51,000.

Exterior

Externally, the eMax7 showcases redesigned headlamps and tail-lamps, along with newly styled bumpers adorned with chrome accents. It rides on fresh 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 R17 tyres. Customers can choose from four colours: Quartz Blue, Harbour Grey, Crystal White, and Cosmos Black.

Interior & Features

Inside, a significant upgrade is the larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, replacing the previous 10.1-inch display found in the e6. The cabin features soft-touch materials throughout, including on dashboard panels. The centre console has been slightly modified to include two wireless charging pads and new switchgear.

Advanced Features and Safety

The top-tier Superior variant boasts Level 2 ADAS technology, a fixed panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, frameless front wipers, and roof rails. Both trims come standard with six airbags, disc brakes at both ends, and a 360-degree camera for enhanced safety.

The steering wheel has been redesigned but retains analogue dials alongside a 5-inch LCD MID for instrumentation. The centre console also includes a new drive selector lever for added convenience.

Battery Options and Performance

Each eMax7 variant offers distinct battery options: the Premium trim houses a 55.4kWh battery providing an NEDC range of 420km, while the Superior trim features a larger 71.8kWh battery offering up to 530km of range.

Performance-wise, the Premium delivers 163hp with a claimed acceleration from 0-100kph in 10.1 seconds; meanwhile, the Superior generates 204hp achieving the same speed in just 8.6 seconds. Both variants produce torque of 310Nm.

Charging Capabilities

Standard equipment includes a 7kW AC charger for both trims; however, fast-charging capabilities differ: the Premium supports up to an impressive rate of up to89kW DC fast charging whereas Superior allows even faster charging speeds reaching115kW DC fast charging capacity respectively . Additionally ,the eMax7 supports vehicle-to-load charging functionality similar across BYD's lineup .

Warranty

BYD assures customers by offering an extensive warranty package covering batteries for 8 years or up to 1,60,000 kilometres, and motors are protected under warranty terms lasting 8 years or up to 1,50,000 kilometres.
