2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Variants Explained: Price, Features & More
On May 9, 2024, Maruti took the wraps off its fourth-gen Swift, pricing it starting at Rs 6.49 lakh. This latest iteration comes in five different variants: LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi, and ZXi+. A notable addition to the lineup is the mid-spec VX (O) trim, which wasn't available in the previous model.
The new Swift brings to the table not just an updated design and a more efficient engine but also a substantial increase in features across all variants. For instance, even the base variants are now equipped with six airbags and halogen projector headlights.

New Powertrain & Efficiency
The introduction of the Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine is a significant update, replacing the older K-Series unit. This engine delivers 80.45bhp and 112Nm of torque. Despite a slight decrease in power compared to its predecessor, it offers improved fuel efficiency of over 3km/l.
In fact, the ARAI fuel efficiency rating for the manual variant of the new Swift stands at 24.8km/l. In addition to the manual transmission, a 5-speed AMT option is also available, boasting an even higher efficiency of 25.75km/l. Except for the entry-level LXi, all variants come with both transmission options.

Variant-wise Pricing & Features
Each variant of the new Swift comes loaded with features, starting from the LXi priced at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 5-speed MT. It includes safety and convenience features like ESC, hill-start assist, rear defogger, remote central locking, and more.
Whereas the VXi variants of the new Swift are priced between Rs 7.3 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom), add amenities such as a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and steering-mounted controls.

The VXi (O) and ZXi trims introduce connected car technology, keyless entry, push-button start, and additional comfort features like rear AC vents and wireless phone charging. Topping the range, the ZXi+ variant, available between Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom), offers premium features including LED fog lights, a rear camera, a larger 9-inch touchscreen, and an Arkamys audio system.
With its more frugal engine and enhanced feature list, the new Swift stands out in its segment, facing off against rivals like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Citroen C3. It also positions itself as an appealing alternative to other models in Maruti's lineup, such as the Tata Tiago, Wagon R, and Ignis.
DriveSpark Thinks
The launch of the new Swift marks another chapter in Maruti's commitment to offering vehicles that blend efficiency with modern features, catering to the evolving needs of Indian consumers.
