2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Launched In India At Rs 6.49 Lakh – Less Cylinders, More Mileage
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the all-new next-generation Swift hatchback in India with a starting price of 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in 11 variants.
It is also worth mentioning that Maruti Suzuki has also introduced the subscription model. According to the Indo-Japanese automaker, the subscription rentals for the new Swift hatchback starts at Rs 17,436.

That being said, Maruti Suzuki had already commenced the bookings for the all-new Swift hatchback in India. Moreover, the booking amount for the new Swift has been capped at Rs 11,000.
The biggest talking point of the new Swift hatchback is its powertrain. Gone is the rev-happy 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. In its place is an all-new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine.

Though this new engine loses 1 whole cylinder compared to the older powertrain, it still manages to put out a respectable 80.46bhp at 5,700rpm and 111.7Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm.
Like the previous model, the new Swift can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT unit (AGS). That being said, the new engine is puts out approximately 8bhp less than the older model.

To overcome this power deficit, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is a lot more fuel efficient, courtesy of its new engine. According to Maruti Suzuki, the manual variant returns a fuel efficiency figure of 24.80km/l, whereas the AGS variant is even more efficient with a mileage of 25.75km/l.
In terms of features, the new Swift now comes with more features than ever before with features such as a bigger infotainment unit, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, and much more.

With the new Swift, Maruti Suzuki also seems to have stepped up the safety game as the model recently scored an impressive 4-star safety rating at the Japan NCAP crash tests.
DriveSpark Thinks
With the new Swift, it looks like Maruti Suzuki has yet another blockbuster product on its hands. However, it is yet to be seen if the new Swift is as driver-friendly and fun-to-drive hatchback as its predecessor, especially considering the new model comes with 3-cylinder engine.
