Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 electric SUV at Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). This new flagship electric SUV is now the second most expensive in India, following the Lotus Eletre. The Maybach EQS stands out from the standard EQS SUV with unique design elements, features, and technological enhancements.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Exterior

The Maybach EQS 680 SUV retains the same dimensions as its standard counterpart but adds distinctive touches. It features a large black grille panel adorned with vertical chrome-plated strips, forming the signature Maybach waterfall grille.

Made from indium, this panel allows radar beams to pass through without needing an unsightly radar panel. Additionally, the three-pointed star logo is positioned on the bonnet's top, and an optional dual-tone paint scheme is available.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Interior Features

Inside, the Maybach EQS 680 SUV mirrors the layout of the standard EQS but includes exclusive start-up sequences. The rear seat entertainment system boasts two 11.6-inch displays mounted on the front seatbacks and an MBUX tablet at the rear that can also be used outside the vehicle.

Optional packages like Chauffeur and First-Class Rear add thermal cup holders, a shelf for the MBUX tablet, four USB-C ports, and two HDMI interfaces. The interior also offers optional additions such as folding tables, a cooling compartment, and silver-plated champagne goblets. These features enhance luxury and convenience for passengers.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Powertrain

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is available in a single 680 trim in India. It features a dual electric motor setup that delivers 658hp and 950Nm of torque to all four wheels via 4Matic AWD technology. This setup allows it to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 210kph.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680: Range

The vehicle's WLTP-certified range is up to 611km on a single charge. Using a 200kW DC fast charger, its 122kWh battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 31 minutes. Mercedes claims that a quick 20-minute charge can provide up to 300km of range.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 Market Position

As Mercedes' first-ever Maybach EV in India, this model competes closely with the Lotus Eletre in terms of price. However, it has no direct rivals in its segment, making it a unique offering in India's luxury electric SUV market.
