Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-Door SUV Bookings To Commence On 3rd October – 6 Trims & 4 Engines
Mahindra recently launched the long-awaited Thar Roxx 5-door SUV in India with an aggressive starting price of just Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Mahindra did not reveal details about its higher variants.
Now, on the 78th Independence Day of India, Mahindra has revealed a few more crucial details regarding the new Thar Roxx 5-door SUV. Bookings for the New Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door SUV is set to commence on 3rd October and the model will be available in 6 trims.
As mentioned earlier, even the base variants of the Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door SUV come well-equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, and a dual-tone exterior finish.
It also includes safety features like six airbags and ESC. This variant is powered by either a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 2.2-litre diesel engine, both paired with a manual gearbox.
Thar Roxx Variants
Other variants of the Thar Roxx include MX3, AX3 L, MX5, AX5 L, and AX7 L. These models come with additional features such as drive modes, terrain modes, automatic climate control, rear camera, hill ascent and descent assist, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The top-spec AX7 L variant also offers a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, ventilated seats, a blind spot monitor, and a premium 9-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.

Thar Roxx Exterior & Interior
The exterior design of the Thar Roxx includes a new grille design, LED projector headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, chunky wheel arches, and stylish alloy wheels. Inside, it mirrors the interior of the 3-door Thar but with added premium touches like soft-touch materials and a dual-tone theme. It also features dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation in higher variants.
Thar Roxx Features
The interior of higher variants includes cooled seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging capabilities, and automatic climate control. These additions enhance comfort and convenience for passengers.
Overall, the Thar Roxx combines various features with robust powertrain options and impressive off-road capabilities. Its 5-door design and enhanced features position it as a more upscale model compared to the traditional 3-door Thar.
Thar Roxx Powertrain
While the petrol-powered base-spec Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 puts out 160hp and 330Nm of peak torque from its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the higher-spec petrol variants put out 177hp and 380Nm of torque.
Coming to the diesel variants, Thar Roxx MX1 uses the familiar 2.2-litre, turbocharged engine with 150hp and 330Nm of peak torque. In comparison, higher-spec models come with a different tune and this unit puts out 175hp and 370Nm of torque.
Thar Roxx Transmission
The Mahindra Thar Roxx can be specified with 6-speed manual or automatic transmission options. Additionally, 4WD models come equipped with a low-ratio gearbox, however, unlike the Scorpio-N, the model lacks a shift-on-fly system, and instead uses a traditional level like the Thar 3-door variant.
