Hyundai has introduced the new Alcazar Facelift in India, positioning it as an upgrade to the previous Alcazar model. The starting price for this new model is Rs. 14.99 lakh. Mahindra's XUV700 SUV is its primary competitor in the market. This article compares the two vehicles to determine which one might be a better choice for consumers.
Price
The complete pricing details for the Hyundai Alcazar Facelift are not yet available. However, the starting ex-showroom price for the model Rs. 14.99 lakh. In contrast, the Mahindra XUV700's ex-showroom prices range from Rs. 13.98 lakh to Rs. 26.04 lakh.

Dimensions
The new Alcazar Facelift measures 4560 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2760 mm. The Mahindra XUV700 is larger, with dimensions of 4695 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1755 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2750 mm.
Features
Both vehicles come equipped with LED headlamps and LED DRLs, auto ORVMs, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, powered driver seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, connected car technology, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Alcazar offers additional features such as ventilated seats for rear passengers, wireless phone charging for rear passengers, and an electric pose mode. However, it only supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The XUV700 provides wireless connectivity for these features.
Audio Systems and Safety
The XUV700 is equipped with a 12-speaker Sony audio system, while the Alcazar Facelift has an 8-speaker Bose audio system. In terms of safety, the Alcazar comes with six airbags, whereas the XUV700 offers seven airbags. Also, both models flaunt ADAS tech.

Engine Options
Both cars are available with petrol and diesel engine options. The Alcazar features smaller engines: a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The XUV700 offers more powerful options: a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine.
The XUV700 also stands out as it can be purchased with an all-wheel-drive option. The Alcazar provides a choice between a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox for its petrol engine, while the XUV700 offers a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for its petrol engine. Both cars come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for their diesel engines.
