Citroen Basalt SUV Details Leak Ahead Of Launch – Specs, Features & More
Citroen India recently revealed the all-new Basalt SUV Coupe in the country. However, Citroen only revealed the exterior of the Basalt SUV Coupe and kept the specifications, features and interior of the model hidden.
Though the official images and videos of the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe are carefully edited to reveal just the exterior design highlights, sometimes a few additional information can leak without notice.

A few such pieces of information about the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe have just been identified by the DriveSpark team. These details also reveal plenty about the driving characteristics and market positioning of the Basalt SUV Coupe.
Headlights
The Indian-spec of the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes equipped with projector LED headlamps, whereas the South American variants use the same halogen headlights as the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV.

Parking Sensors
Both the Indian-spec and the South American-spec Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe feature rear parking sensors. However, neither iterations of the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe come equipped with front parking sensors or a rear parking camera.
Alloy Wheels & Tyres
Taking a closer look at the rear wheels, we can see that the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes equipped with 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped in 205/50 Bridgestone Turanza tyres.

In comparison, the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV comes with 215/60 R17 tyres. This means, the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes with slightly thinner but lower profile tyres, resulting in slightly firmer but sportier ride characteristics.
Brakes
Also, unlike the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV and the Citroen C3 hatchback, the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes equipped with rear disc brakes. However, we are not sure if the rear disc brakes are part of the standard equipment or limited to just the higher-spec variant.
No Sunroof
In the official video of the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe, the top of the model was fully revealed. However, as a surprise to many, the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe does not seem to sport a sunroof. The lack of this feature could be a dealbreaker for many.
Infotainment Unit
One of the images of the Basalt SUV Coupe revealed the silhouette of the infotainment unit, and this silhouette of the infotainment unit looks very similar to the one in the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. As such, it is safe to say that both models will share similar-looking interiors.
Thoughts About The New Citroen Basalt
The Citroen Basalt is a unique-looking model in its category and it definitely stands out from the current crop of SUVs in its segment. However, the lack of features such as a rear parking camera could significantly hinder the impact of the model in the Indian market.
