BMW has introduced the new-generation 5 Series in India, featuring a long-wheelbase (LWB) version for the first time. This makes India the only market outside China, and the only right-hand-drive market, to receive this extended luxury sedan. BMW 5 Series LWB: Price & Variants
The newly launched BMW 5 Series LWB is available in a single variant - 530Li M Sport. This variant of the BMW 5 Series LWB is priced at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW 5 Series LWB: Powertrain
The BMW 5 Series LWB is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 258hp and 400Nm of peak torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 250kph.

BMW 5 Series LWB: Dimensions
The dimensions of the BMW 5 Series LWB are impressive, measuring 5,165mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and standing at a height of 1,518mm. It boasts a wheelbase of 3,105mm, making it larger than its predecessors and even bigger than the upcoming next-generation E-Class LWB.

BMW 5 Series LWB: Features
The BMW 5 Series LWB comes loaded with features such as front-seat ventilation, matrix LED headlamps, an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a dual curved screen layout consisting of a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. Additional amenities include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four-zone climate control, a large sunroof, and six USB-C ports.
The BMW 5 Series LWB also includes an enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite that offers front collision warning and braking, lane keep assist, and parking assist. However, it lacks adaptive cruise control and rear passenger sunshades.

BMW 5 Series LWB: Rivals
In terms of competition, the BMW 5 Series LWB faces off against the Mercedes E-Class LWB, which has been available for some time now. The new E-Class is expected to launch in India later this year. Other competitors include the Audi A6, Lexus ES, and Volvo S90.
