BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase Launched In India At INR 72.90 Lakh: A New Era Of Luxury
BMW India has unveiled the new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase. This model can be reserved at BMW dealerships across India and on their website, with deliveries starting in September 2024.
The eighth generation of the BMW 5 Series, a leader in the executive sedan market since its inception in 1972 is now more dynamic and digitally advanced. Over 10 million units have been sold globally, cementing its status as a top business sedan.
New Features and Design
The exterior of the new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase boasts a sporty design with a steeply sloping A-pillar and a gently flowing roofline. Measuring 5,165 mm in length, 2,156 mm in width, and 1,518 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm, it is the largest car in its segment. The kidney grille with Iconic Glow contour lighting adds to its dynamic appeal.
Inside, the BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase offers generous space and modern functionality. It features comfort seats with vegan leather upholstery and active seat ventilation at the front. The rear seats provide increased knee room (+71mm), and four-zone air conditioning allows individual temperature adjustments.
Advanced Technology
The driver-oriented cockpit includes the BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar with touchscreen functionality. The Curved Display merges a 12.3-inch Information Display behind the steering wheel with a 14.9-inch Control Display into one high-resolution unit. The Interaction Bar integrates ambient light, AC controls, and air vents into an aesthetic experience.
The latest BMW Operating System 8.5 enhances interaction between occupants and the vehicle through touch or voice commands. The system includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that adapts to the driver's habits and provides useful tips on driving functions.
Performance and Efficiency
The all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 190 kW / 258 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. It also features a 48V Electrical Motor for better efficiency and dynamics. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km / hr in just 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.
Comfort and Safety
The Comfort Suspension ensures a luxurious ride with minimal body roll while maintaining sporty dynamics. The M Steering wheel includes paddle shift functions for enhanced control.
Safety features include eight airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer with crash sensor, and child seat mounting.
Pricing and Availability
The introductory ex-showroom price for the BMW 530Li M Sport is INR 72,90,000. Prices are inclusive of GST but exclude other taxes such as Road Tax and insurance fees.
The all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase comes in four metallic paint options: Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, M Carbon Black, and Sparkling Copper Grey. For the first time, it features fully vegan interior upholstery available in dual-tone combinations like Veganza | Copper Brown / Atlas Grey and Maritime / Black.

BMW offers Service Inclusive plans that reduce ownership costs by covering Condition Based Service (CBS) and maintenance work for durations starting from three years or up to ten years depending on mileage.
