Production & Availability
Unlike the standard Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is a limited edition model, and this iteration of the SUV will be only on sale this month (December 2023).
Variants & Price
The new Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is available in 6 variants. The base Zeta trim with manual transmission costs Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the automatic variant based on this trim costs Rs 11.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
On the other hand, the higher-spec Alpha trim of the Jimny Thunder Edition with manual transmission costs Rs 12.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, the Jimny Thunder Edition Alpha automatic variant costs Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
For people who prefer a bit more style, Maruti Suzuki is also offering a dual-tone paint job on the top-spec 'Alpha' variants of the Jimny Thunder Edition SUV. These models cost an additional Rs 16,000 over the respective 'Alpha' variants.
Changes
As the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Editon is a limited edition model, it comes with a few additional accessories to help it stand out from regular models. These changes also include standard fitment of a few accessories.
Noticeable changes on the Maruti Suzuki Thunder Edition come in the form of new decals on the sides and the inclusion of accessories such as a front bash plate, side door claddings, door visors, silver garnished ORVMs, bonnet and fenders.
Powertrain
Mechanically, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is identical to the standard Jimny SUV. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated engine continues to push out 103bhp and 134Nm of peak torque.
Also, as mentioned, this engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque converter gearbox. The model also features Suzuki's famed All Grip Pro 4x4 system.
