BMW India launched the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV in India. This is the fourth electric BMW on offer in India and clearly shows the direction taken by the German automaker in the country.

BMW iX1 xDrive30 Price & Competitors

The newly launched BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV is available in just one variant and this variant is priced at Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 competes against the likes of the Mercedes EQB SUV, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Volvo C40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.

BMW iX1 xDrive30 Powertrain & Performance

The new BMW iX1 xDrive30 comes with two electric motors (one for each axle) making it an all-wheel-drive electric SUV. In combined form, these two electric motors together produce a total output of 313bhp and 494Nm of peak torque.

Thanks to such a powerful powertrain and added traction from the all-wheel-drive layout, the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV takes just 5.6 seconds to sprint from 0-100km/h. However, the top speed of the model is limited to 180km/h.

BMW iX1 xDrive30 Battery & Charging

The new BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV comes packed with a 66.4kWh battery pack. Thanks to this large battery pack and efficient powertrain, BMW claims that the model can deliver an impressive range of 440 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.

According to BMW, the new iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV with its standard 11kW AC charger can charge up the car from 0-100 per cent battery capacity in about 6.3 hours. However, with the 130kW DC fast charger, the battery escalates from 10-80 per cent in just under 30 minutes.

BMW iX1 xDrive30 Features

The new BMW iX1 xDrive 30 electric SUV comes equipped with features such as a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital information display, rear bench seat with reclination feature, two-zone climate control, a Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers and much more.

The model also sports front seats with a massage function, 6 distinct ambient lighting modes, an automatic tailgate operation system, adaptive suspension, a panoramic sunroof and a park assist feature.

In terms of safety, the new BMW iX1 electric SUV comes with safety features such as ABS, ESP, traction control (TC), multiple airbags, adaptive LED headlights and more. The model also comes equipped with ADAS tech for added safety.

BMW iX1 xDrive30 Design

The BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV looks very similar to the BMW X1 SUV. In fact, the model features nearly identical design lines. However, the distinction comes in the form of 'i' emblem mounted on the front grille.
