BMW iX1 xDrive30 Launched In India At Rs 66.90 Lakh – 440 Kilometre Range & Much More

BMW India launched the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 electric SUV in India at Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This newly launched electric SUV is available in just one trim level, the SUV boasts a range of 440 kilometres.

This newly launched BMW iX1 xDrive 30 electric SUV is the fourth electric BMW on offer in India. This clearly shows the direction taken by the German automaker in the country.

Design

The BMW iX1 looks very similar to its gasoline-powered cousin, the BMW X1. In fact, the model features nearly identical design lines. However, the distinction comes in the form of the 'i' emblem mounted on the front grille.

The electric SUV rides on sturdy 18-inch alloy wheels and features adaptive suspension for a smoother drive. Also, this new model is available in 4 monotone colours - Grey, Silver, Black, and White.

The new BMW iX1 SUV features a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the dashboard features an Aluminium 'Mesheffect' finish, accented with chrome highlights. The model also features a 10.25-inch digital information display and the rear bench comes with a reclination feature.

Standout features include two-zone climate control, front seats with a massage function, a Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers, 6 distinct ambient lighting modes, and a panoramic sunroof. The model also features adaptive LED headlights, an automatic tailgate operation system, and a parking assist feature.

Safety

In terms of safety, the new BMW iX1 electric SUV comes with safety features such as ABS, ESP, traction control (TC), multiple airbags, and more. The model also features ADAS tech for added safety.

Battery, Performance, & Charging

The new BMW iX1 xDrive 30 features two electric motors placed over both axles for an all-wheel-drive layout. The combined output of these electric motors stands at 313bhp and 494Nm of torque.

Thanks to this powertrain setup, the BMW iX1 electric SUV takes just 5.6 seconds to sprint from 0-100km/h and achieves a top speed of 180km/h. The model also comes with a 66.4kWh battery pack and delivers an impressive range of 440 kilometres.

With the standard 11kW AC charger, the battery in the BMW iX1 charges up from 0-100 per cent in about 6.3 hours, whereas with the 130kW DC fast charger, the battery escalates from 10-80 per cent in just 29 minutes.

Competitors

The BMW iX1 xDrive 30 competes with rivals such as the Mercedes EQB, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6. However, by potentially incorporating local assembly of the iX1, the brand can reduce its prices and remain competitive in the growing electric vehicle market.
