Tata Hexa Registers Zero Units Sold In March: MPV Discontinued In India
Tata Hexa has registered zero units sold during March in India. The MPV has been discontinued in India by the brand as it has not been updated to meet the BS6 emission standards.

According to Autopunditz, the company has sold zero units of the Hexa MPV during the month of March. The company stopped production of the Hexa MPV last month and has not dispatched any model since. The Tata Hexa in its BS4 format was powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine in two different states of tune.

The entry-level trim of the MPV was powered by the ‘Varicor 320' engine producing 148bhp and 320Nm of torque, and came mated to a five-speed gearbox. While the remaining trims of the Hexa MPV were offered with a ‘Varicor 400' engine.

The higher-spec 2.2-litre engine produced 154bhp and 400Nm of torque, and came mated to either to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter unit. The Hexa was offered with a four-wheel-drive system on the top-spec XT trim.

The Hexa featured an aggressive styling with blacked-out claddings all-around. The faux skid plates, chrome inserts, and twin exhaust tips enhanced the MPVs aggressive looks and helped it stand apart. It also featured smoked projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the Inside, the Hexa featured a seven-inch touchscreen system, steering mounted control, dual-zone climate control with rear ac vents, a 10-unit JBL speaker system, premium Benecke-Kaliko leather upholstery, and more. The Hexa was offered in six-seat and seven-seat configurations.

Tata Motors had equipped the Hexa with the brand's latest ‘ConnectNext' technology. The connected technology allows owners via a smartphone application. Features that can be controlled are the MPV's media system, and vehicle telemetry with tracking; among others. The Tata Hexa also featured cruise control and with four different drive modes: ‘Auto', ‘Comfort', ‘Dynamic', and ‘Rough Road'.

The company is expected to launch the Hexa Safari model with a BS6 compliant engine later this year. Ahead of the launch, Tata Motors showcased the Hexa BS6 model in a new avatar at the 2020 AutoExpo.

The vehicle will feature several updates including blacked-out bumpers and various trims finished in piano black, a few design revisions and new coloured upholstery.

In related news, Tata Motors has started online booking of their models to support its customers during the Covid19 pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown in the country — here are more details.

Thoughts About The Tata Hexa Registering Zero Units Sold In March
The Tata Hexa certainly had the road presence, and the features to stand apart. However, the MPV failed to make an impact on the sales numbers in the Indian market. The new Tata Hexa Safari will be launched in the Indian market with an updated design, new features, and a BS6 compliant engine.
