Maruti Wagon R Sales Milestone: Tall-Boy Crosses 1 Lakh Units Since Launch In India

The Maruti Wagon R registered 14,650 units in sales for the month of November 2019, translating to a 29.5 per cent growth over a year-on-year basis. The company says that demand for the popular tallboy is still growing.

The current-generation Wagon R features an improved design language. The model features a subtle chrome treatment on the grille, larger air dams, and black highlights in the headlamps. The Wagon R also features dual tone interiors with a well designed dashboard.

The Maruti Wagon R is available with two petrol engine options - a 1.0-litre engine that produces 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque; and a 1.2-litre engine that produces 90bhp of power and 113Nm of torque.

A five-speed manual transmission is offered as standard, and the company's AGD automatic transmission is available as an optional on select trims. The Maruti WagonR petrol models are currently priced between Rs 4.42 lakh and Rs 5.91 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Wagon R is also available with a 1.0-litre CNG unit that produces 67bhp of power and 78Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The CNG model is priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 5.06 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
