Hyundai Venue Scores 4 Stars At ANCAP Crash Tests: Details

According to the ANCAP reports, the Hyundai Venue rated 91 per cent safe for adult occupants, 81 percent safe for child occupants, and 62 percent safe for pedestrians and road users. The vehicle was rated 62 per cent for safety assist features.

The Hyundai Venue model that was awarded a 4 star safety rating by the ANCAP featured a 1.6-litre petrol engine, dual front airbags, side chest protection airbags, side head protection airbags for front and rear.

The model also featured autonomous emergency braking (city, inter-urban and vulnerable Road User), a lane support system with lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and an emergency lane keeping - all of which are standard features across all Hyundai Venue variants.

The ANCAP report stated, "The passenger compartment of the Hyundai Venue remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated adequate protection for the driver's chest and the lower legs of both the driver and front passenger. Protection for all other critical body regions for the driver and the front passenger was good."

The report went on to state that during the full-width frontal test, protection of the driver was sufficient for the chest and good for all other critical body regions. Protection for the rear passenger's neck was adequate, and protection for the chest was marginal.

During the side impact test, protection for all critical body areas for the driver was rated good, while protection for the chest and other critical arreas was rated adequate and good respectively, during the oblique pole test.
