Tata Motors is gearing up for the Auto Expo 2018 and has lined up a wide range of products for the Indian market. We had already reported about the upcoming Tata premium hatchback which will be showcased at the biggest auto show in the country. Now, Tata Motors has teased the X451 premium hatchback ahead of its debut.
Tata Motors has revealed a new teaser image of the X451 premium hatchback which reveals the headlamp cluster and bonnet of the car. The headlamp looks to be a full-LED unit and the sleek design of the lights render the car a futuristic look. Overall, the design looks completely different compared to current-gen Tata cars.
The Tata X451 premium hatchback will also feature the company's Impact Design 2.0 which will bring in radical changes to the design philosophy. The hatchback is expected to get flared wheel arches, and prominent hump in the window line similar to the Nexon and the front grille is likely to be sleeker than the Nexon. The rear profile is also expected to get sleek tail lights to enhance the sporty look of the hatchback.
Tata Motors' X451 premium hatchback will be the first car to be based on the new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) which is developed in-house by the Indian automaker. Mechanically, the premium hatchback is expected to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108bhp.
There is also a possibility of Tata Motors utilising the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine from the Tiago hatchback. The diesel variant of the car is likely to get a 1.05-litre turbocharged engine with higher power output. Tata Motors will reveal the new premium hatchback at the Auto Expo 2018 in February.
Apart from the X451 premium hatchback, Tata Motors will also showcase the H5 premium SUV which is expected to be named as Tata Atmos. The SUV will be based on the Land Rover Discovery Sport's platform and will be offered in a five-seater and seven-seater variants.
Tata Motors will also reveal the new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) and a Medium/Heavy Commercial Vehicle with an all-new design. In 2018, Tata Motors is keen to enter the premium car space with its new hatchback and SUV. Both the vehicles have already been spotted on Indian roads.

Tata Motors' Impact Design language has been successful in the Indian market with the vehicles such as Tiago, Nexon, Tigor and Hexa. Now, the new premium hatchback promises to be a similar product with an all-new design language. When launched in India, the premium hatchback will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.
