Skoda Superb Sportline ‘Coming Soon’ To India; Listed On Official Website

Skoda India has listed the Superb Sportline edition on their official website, indicating a launch soon. The Skoda Superb Sportline will offer a more sporty and fun-to-drive package.

Skoda Auto has listed the new Superb Sportline edition on their official website, indicating an India launch soon. The Skoda Superb Sportline is a sportier and fun-to-drive variant of the company's flagship sedan offering.

The Skoda Superb Sportline offers sharper styling and comes in a bright red paint job. The sedan also comes with black styling accents on the exteriors.

These include cosmetic updates such as a black grille with gloss highlights, blacked-out headlamps and gloss-black ORVMs. The images, seen on the official website also showcases dual-tone black/silver alloy wheels and side strips.

The European-spec Skoda Superb Sportline offers a lowered ride height by 15mm with 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the car features an all-black theme with exclusive sports seats with contrast stitching, door sills in aluminium with the Superb branding, leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminium pedals.

The European -spec Superb Sportline also comes with Columbus satellite navigation, 9.2-inch touchscreen display and integrated WiFi.

Currently, Skoda India offers the Superb in two variants: Style and L&K. The two variants come powered with by either a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine or a 2.0-litre TDI diesel offering. The 1.8-litre TSI engine produces 177bhp and 320Nm of torque. It is further mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 175bhp and 350Nm of torque. It further comes mated to the seven-speed DSG transmission as standard, without the option of a manual gearbox.

Skoda recently also launched the Superb Corporate Edition in India. The Skoda Superb Corporate Edition comes with a starting price of Rs 23.49 lakh, ex-showroom. However, this edition is exclusive only for current Skoda owners. Although, the company does state that if the corporate edition receives a good response, they will introduce it to the masses.

Thoughts On The Skoda Superb Sportline

Skoda Auto India has listed the Superb Sportline on their official website, with the tag ‘Coming Soon'. This indicates that the new edition will be available in the Indian market sometime by the end of 2018. However, details regarding the exact features, specifications and pricing are yet to be announced.
