2018 Maruti Swift Official Bookings Open In India
Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that it has commenced the bookings for the new 2018 Swift.
Previously, we had reported about Maruti Suzuki dealers accepting unofficial bookings for the 2018 Swift, one of the most anticipated cars in India. Now, Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that it has commenced the bookings for the new second-gen Swift and dealers across the country are accepting bookings for the hatchback.
The 2018 Maruti Swift can be booked by making an advance payment of Rs 11,000. The new second-gen Swift is expected to hit the showrooms by the end of February. Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Swift at the Auto Expo 2018 which is scheduled to take place from February 7, 2018.
Maruti Suzuki dealers in Bangalore have confirmed to DriveSpark that the 2018 Swift will reach the dealerships by the end of February and the expected waiting period stands at around six to eight weeks. The dealers also told that the new Swift would be offered in six colour options.

But there are no details on the trim levels and features. One of the dealers said that the car can be booked now, and the trim level can be changed after the new Swift is launched. The customers who have booked the car in the next ten days will be on priority and will get the delivery very soon after the launch.
The new 2018 Maruti Swift is based on the new HEARTECT platform made out of high tensile steel which is lighter and strong. The same platform also underpins the new Dzire and the Baleno. The new Swift will be lighter and deliver an improved fuel efficiency. With the weight reduction, the hatchback will be agile in the handling department.
On the design front, the 2018 Swift gets a new front end with a large single-frame grille, newly designed headlamps with projector lights and LED DRLs. The side profile of the car features a sloping roof design with a window frame mounted rear door handle and blacked out pillars, but retains the signature Swift silhouette. The rear end also gets new tail lights and a redesigned bumper.
Mechanically, the 2018 Swift will continue to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines coupled to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The interior of the new Swift will also feature an updated dashboard similar to the new Dzire, with a flat-bottom steering wheel, new infotainment system and other premium features.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The 2018 Maruti Swift will be one of the biggest launches of 2018 in the Indian market. The Swift has been the best-selling hatchback in the country since the first-gen model was launched. Now, Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the third-gen model with significant changes. We expect the new Swift to replicate the success of the previous models.
