India's leading automaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new 2018 Swift in the Indian market. Previously, we had reported about the new Maruti Swift arriving at the dealerships as the bookings have already commenced. The new Swift model has been already listed on the official website with all the technical details and features. Now, we bring you the India launch date and the expected price of the new Maruti Swift.
Swift has been India's best-selling hatchback since the first-gen model was launched in the country. Now, with the new design language and premium features, the Swift has become more desirable hatchback in the Indian market. So, when is the new 2018 Swift launching in India and what will be the price? We bring you all the details.
New Maruti Swift India Launch Date
Maruti Suzuki will launch the new 2018 Swift at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 which is scheduled to take place between February 7th to 14th, 2018. To be specific, the new Maruti Swift is likely to be launched on February 8 or 9, 2018. The new Maruti Swift sports an all-new design and new features.

New Maruti Swift Expected Price
The currently sold second-gen Swift is priced at Rs 4.80 lakh for the entry-level trim and Rs 7.47 lakh for the top-spec trim. With the number of updates and new features, the new Maruti Swift is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 5 lakh for the base variant and Rs 8 lakh for the top-of-the-range model. The exact pricing details will be revealed at the Auto Expo 2018.
New Maruti Swift Design
The new Swift model sports an all-new design language with new front and rear profile. The front fascia of the new Swift features a large hexagonal grille with all-black horizontal slats. Newly designed headlamp with projector lights and LED DRLs on the top-spec trim and aggressively designed bumper with large circular fog lamps.
The side profile of the new Maruti Swift remains almost identical to the second-gen Swift. The third-gen Swift gets a floating roof design with the window frame mounted door handle which makes the design look clean and clutter-free. The new Swift retains the signature Swift silhouette with the sloping roof design.
The rear profile of the new Maruti Swift gets redesigned LED tail light cluster, revamped tailgate and a new bumper. The badging is also new with only Swift branding and the Suzuki logo unlike the Maruti Suzuki logo on the currently sold model.
New Maruti Swift Engine & Specifications
The third-gen Maruti Swift will continue to draw power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine. The petrol unit produces 83bhp and 140Nm of torque, and the diesel engine is good for 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The 2018 Maruti Swift is based on the new HEARTECT platform which is lighter and stronger and also underpins the Baleno and the new Dzire. The new Swift is now more comfortable thanks to the improved legroom and headroom. The boot space has expanded by 58 litres and stands at 265 litres. The kerb weight has reduced by 85kg.
New Maruti Swift Interior & Features
The new Swift model features an all-black interior with a completely redesigned dashboard in line with the new Dzire. The interior design is neat and clutter free with the sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, circular AC vents and circular AC control dials. Another prominent feature is the addition of the touchscreen infotainment system. The urban chrome satin finish on the door, dashboard, steering wheel and instrument cluster renders a premium look.
Coming to the features, the new Maruti Swift comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. Other prominent features include engine Start/Stop button, keyless entry with smart key, electrically operated and adjustable ORVMs and automatic headlamp and climate control.
The safety features of the 2018 Swift include dual-front airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD and IsoFix child seat mounts as standard across the range. The top-spec variant also gets reverse parking sensors and camera and speed-sensitive automatic door lock and day and night adjustable IRVM.
