At the rear, Hyundai has redesigned the 2018 Hyundai i20 extensively. The new i20 facelift gets a newly designed rear bumper and revised tail lights; however, it does not feature LED lighting. With the registration plate moved to the tailgate from the rear bumper, the new Hyundai i20 looks sharper and modern.

On the inside, the interiors of the new i20 are similar to the old i20 except for few upgrades and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from these small changes, the interiors of the new Hyundai i20 is identical to the old model.

    Features

    The new touchscreen infotainment system in the new Hyundai i20 facelift now comes with several modern features such as inbuilt navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which was available in the old i20 as well, but is now is a lot more responsive. New on the inside is the rear AC vents and slidable front armrest. Also, the climate control unit gets ioniser which purifies and deodorises the cabin.

    Apart from these new features, the 2018 Hyundai i20 continues to get electrically operable ORVMs; steering wheel mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, USB charger among others. The new Hyundai i20 receives ‘Auto Link', a mobile app which gives the owner vital information of the car including service and maintenance assistance from Hyundai. Additionally, the new i20 also features push-button start/stop, smart pedal, and automatic headlights.

    The all-new Hyundai i20 now gets dual front airbags and ABS as standard safety features across variants. The top-of-the-line Hyundai i20 Asta receives six airbags and ISOFIX child-seat mounts, reverse parking camera and sensors, automatic headlamp and dead pedal.

    While Hyundai has equipped the new Hyundai i20 facelift with dual airbags and ABS as standard features, ISOFIX child seat mounts are sorely missed in the lower variants of the car.

    Engine Specifications, Gearbox & Mileage

    The Hyundai i20 facelift continues to draw power from the same engine that powered the old i20; however, the carmaker has ditched the 1.4-litre petrol engine with CVT gearbox. The 2018 model is available with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel unit. The 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine churns out 82bhp and 115Nm of torque which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel unit makes 89bhp and 220Nm of torque which is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
