Maruti S-Cross Achieves 1 Lakh Sales Milestone
The Maruti S-Cross has crossed one lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. The cumulative sales figures are of both the old and facelifted version of the S-Cross premium crossover. The Maruti S-Cross facelift was launched in India in 2017. In September 2018, Maruti Suzuki updated the S-Cross with new features.
The S-Cross was the first offering from Maruti Suzuki's Nexa premium dealership network. The signature Nexa Blue colour of the S-Cross account for 36 percent sales of the crossover. Currently, there are 329 Nexa dealerships across 186 cities in the country.
The new facelifted Maruti S-Cross gets a new front end with a new chrome grille, redesigned headlamps, muscular bumper and revamped fog lamps. The top-spec variant of S-Cross also gets a sharp LED tail light cluster, sportier alloy wheels and redesigned ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
The interior of the Maruti S-Cross facelift features a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, satin chrome accents around the centre console and AC vents, soft-touch dashboard and well-coordinated seat fabric design.
The Maruti S-Cross draws power from a 1.3-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 88.5bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel engine is also equipped with Suzuki's Smart Hybrid system with features such as regenerative braking.
The Maruti S-Cross comes equipped with standard safety features such as dual airbags, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensor, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The top-spec variant of the crossover also features reverse parking camera, auto dimming IRVM and rain sensing wipers.
Thoughts On The Maruti S-Cross Sales
The Maruti S-Cross was the first premium offering from the Indian automaker and we can say that the crossover has been a successful product in the country. Currently, the Maruti S-Cross is priced in the range of Rs 8.85 lakh to Rs 11.45 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). With the festive season going on, the sales of the S-Cross will further increase.
