Datsun redi-GO Diamond Edition To Be Launched In India
The Datsun redi-GO has been one of the best-selling entry-level hatchbacks in the Indian market. Datsun has recently launched AMT version of the red-GO in the country. Now, CarWale reports that Datsun will introduce the redi-GO Diamond edition in India. Previously, the company had launched the Gold edition of the hatchback in the country.
The report states that the Datsun redi-GO Diamond edition will get cosmetic changes such as new colour options, decals on the bonnet, doors, roof and tailgate. The redi-GO Diamond edition will be a dealer-level modification which will be offered on the 2017 models to clear the stock.
Datsun is planning to introduce the Diamond edition of the redi-GO to boost the sales of the hatchback. The Datsun redi-GO Diamond edition is expected to be offered in both the 800cc and 1-litre variant of the hatchback. With a refreshed look and attractive discount offers, Datsun is planning to clear the 2017 inventory of the hatchback.

The Datsun redi-GO is offered with two engine options in India. The entry-level variant comes with an 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine producing 54bhp and 72Nm of torque. The red-GO is also available with a bigger 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 67bhp and 91Nm of torque.
Both the 800cc and 1-litre engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, sending power to the front wheels. The 1-litre variant of the Datsun redi-GO is also offered with an optional AMT gearbox which was recently launched in the country. The Datsun redi-GO is based on the CMF-A platform which also underpins the Renault Kwid. The red-GO has been a best-selling car for Datsun since its launch. But it is still beaten by Renault Kwid in terms of sales. The prices for the redi-GO starts at Rs 2.49 lakh, and the top-spec AMT variant is priced at Rs 3.96 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
