Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the Innova Crysta Touring Sport in India to enhance the sporty quotient of the premium MPV. While the previous generation Innova changed the MPV segment in India offering premium features, the current Innova Crysta took the MPV to the next level.
Toyota has silently updated the sporty MPV with a host of features. Most notably is the new 6-speed manual gearbox for the diesel variant.
Now, the Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Sport diesel model with the new 6-speed manual gearbox is priced at Rs 19.60 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol variant of the Innova Crysta Sport continues to come with the 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 6-speed automatic gearbox is offered with both the models as an option.
There is no official confirmation about the availability of the new Innova Crysta Touring Sport, but the company's official website has been updated with the changes.
Toyota's new 6-speed manual gearbox for the Innova Crysta Touring Sport comes with the intelligent manual transmission (iMT) technology and is mated to the 2.4-litre GD series diesel engine.
The 2,393cc turbocharged inline, four-cylinder diesel unit produces 148bhp and 343Nm of torque. The company also offers a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with the diesel variant as an option.
Other updates include the new 17-inch matte black alloy wheels instead of the previous 16-inch wheels, chrome door handles, rear spoiler with integrated LED lights and rear defogger.
Inside the cabin of the Innova Crysta Touring Sport, there are no visible changes, but Toyota has added few changes. The touchscreen infotainment system now comes with navigation function along with idle start/ stop function.
Apart from the cosmetic changes to the Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Sport, the significant upgrade is the new 6-speed manual gearbox and the 17-inch alloy wheels. The reason for the changes points to better fuel efficiency with the new gearbox along with the idle start/ stop function.
