Wait For The Tata Nexon Gets Longer — Find Out Why
Tata Nexon's waiting period increases to two months.
Tata Motors launched the Nexon in the booming SUV market in India to take on established models such as the Maruti Brezza and Ford EcoSport. With the company's new IMPACT design philosophy, the Nexon's design has generated a huge excitement among the Indian buyers.
As per reports by BW Businessworld, the Tata Nexon now commands a waiting period of up to 6-8 weeks. The Tata Nexon has been priced competitively with the petrol model starting at Rs 5.85 lakh and the diesel model priced at Rs 6.85 lakh onwards.
While the launch price of the Nexon is introductory, it does cut the competition on the pricing front as well as on several other aspects like design, features, and specifications.
Tata Motors manufactures the Nexon at the Fiat Ranjangaon factory and with the high demand, the company is expected to add another shift or another assembly line to reduce the waiting period of the Nexon.
The Tata Nexon is available in both petrol and diesel models. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine produces 108.5bhp and 170Nm of torque.
The diesel model of the Nexon is powered by the newly developed 1.5-litre four-cylinder Revotorq unit which develops 108.5bhp and 260Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Apart from a host of features, the Tata Nexon offers ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 17kpl from the petrol engine, and the diesel unit delivers 21.5kpl.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The Tata Nexon seems to break the firm hold of the Maruti Brezza and might even challenge sedans such as the Maruti Dzire, Baleno among others. While the waiting period indicates the popularity of the Nexon, Tata Motors needs to increase the production of the compact SUV to cater to the demand.
