Spy Pics: Ford Figo Cross Spotted Testing In India
Ford India is testing the new crossover variant of the Figo facelift in the country.
We have already reported about Ford testing the new Figo facelift hatchback in India. Now, the latest spy images reveal that Ford is also testing the crossover variant of the Figo.
The Ford Figo Cross was spotted testing alongside the Figo facelift. Both the new Figo facelift and Figo cross is expected to feature cosmetic and mechanical changes.
The front fascia of the Ford Figo facelift features a new honeycomb grille as opposed to the chrome slats of the current model. The front bumper has been revamped and the headlamps are blacked out. The rear of the updated hatchback also features subtle updates with a tweaked tail light cluster.
The cross variant of the Figo sports faux skid plates, roof rails and plastic body cladding running across the body and wheel arches. The Figo cross is shod with dark six-spoke alloy wheels. The cross variant of the hatchback is likely to be launched as Figo Active or Figo Freestyle.

The interior of the Figo cross variant is likely to receive subtle updates in the form of a new touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Apart from that, the cabin might also feature premium seat upholstery with new colours.
The Ford Figo cross is expected to draw power from the existing 1.5-litre diesel engine. The report also states that Ford will introduce the new Dragon series 1.5-litre petrol engine which made its India debut with the new EcoSport compact SUV.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The cross variant of the Figo hatchback looks rugged due to the body cladding and roof rails. On the mechanical front, the Figo cross is likely to remain unchanged. Expect Ford to showcase the new Figo and the cross variant of the hatchback at the 2018 Auto Expo in February 2018.
