New Mahindra XUV500 To Be More Powerful — Here Are The Specs
Mahindra is working on a facelifted version of the XUV500 which will be more powerful than the current generation vehicle.
Mahindra is reportedly working on a facelifted version of the Scorpio and the XUV500. The XUV, which is the current flagship offering is reportedly getting a more powerful engine.
As per reports, the new Mahindra XUV500 will continue to roll out with the 2.2-litre diesel motor but will produce 170bhp, along with a possible increase in torque output.

The current generation XUV500 uses the same 2.2-litre diesel mill, producing 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. Mahindra also manufactures the XUV500 with a 1.99-litre engine, making the exact power output, but with 320Nm of torque.

The XUV500 is offered in India with a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox, with front-wheel-drive or with all-wheel-drive choices.

The upcoming facelifted version is also expected to retain the drivetrain. When launched, the XUV will enter the segment which consists of the new Endeavour and the Fortuner regarding its power output.
