GST: Maruti Ciaz Petrol Now More Affordable
Maruti is passing on the GST benefits of up to 3 percent to its customers; Maruti Ciaz petrol receives a minimum price cut of Rs 7,000 to maximum of Rs 9,000.
The implementation of the Goods and Service Tax (GST) system has quite a few changes to prices of cars in the Indian market. Cars will attract 28 percent GST along with additional cess.
India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has cut prices across its products by up to 3 percent. Maruti Ciaz will receive a price cut for the base variant of Rs 7,000, which is biggest compared to other high-volume models of Maruti.
However, the diesel Ciaz will attract a price increase of upto up to Rs 92,000. The Government of India will levy 43 percent on hybrid vehicles and the Ciaz diesel with Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) will come under this taxation system.
Customers looking to buy the petrol model of Ciaz will benefit the most. The petrol powered Ciaz will receive price cut of up to Rs 9,000, but the diesel version costs from Rs 1.56-1.88 lakh more depending on the variant.

So if you are looking to buy the Ciaz petrol model, you stand to get the most discount, while the diesel-powered model will cost you more.
The Maruti Ciaz petrol is powered by a 1.4-litre mill that produces 91bhp and 130Nm of torque and comes mated either to a 5-speed manual gearbox or 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The diesel-powered Maruti Ciaz hybrid is equipped with a 1.3-litre unit which delivers 88.5bhp and 200Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki has revised prices of the best-selling Swift and Alto as well.
