Here Is One Reason Why India Needs Kia Motors
Kia Motors beat Genesis (luxury brand of Hyundai) and Porsche to top the J.D Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality Study of new vehicles.
Kia Motors, as we all know, is the sister brand of Hyundai and has confirmed its plan for India. But why is Kia Motors significant to India, when brands like Maruti Suzuki hold close to 50 percent market share in the Indian automobile space?
Also, Hyundai has created a niche for itself in the Indian market and enjoys an excellent brand value in the country. So, does Kia Motors stepping in to India will help increase its presence around the globe? Or is India a lucrative market that Kia does not want to miss the Indian bandwagon?
Here is one of the reasons why India needs Kia Motors:
Before we get to the reason, let us understand a little bit more about the Kia and the brand associated with it. Kia Motors is the second largest carmaker in South Korea with sales over 3.3 million in 2015.
The company started off as a manufacturer of bicycles and eventually began manufacturing automobiles. Today Kia Motors is present in America, Europe, Mexico, China, Vietnam apart from South Korea.
With its tremendous rise in the automobile sector, Kia Motors has topped the J.D Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality Study of new vehicles for the second year in a row. Kia beat Genesis (luxury brand of Hyundai) as well as luxury sports car manufacturer Porsche.
Now that's an achievement which can hardly be forgotten. India needs carmakers who strive to offer the best quality like Kia Motors.
"Automotive manufacturers are responding to consumer feedback and producing vehicles of the highest quality," said Dave Sargent, vice president of global automotive at J.D. Power.
He added, "The industry has improved significantly in each of the past three years. Today's vehicles have more things that could go wrong but fewer things that actually do go wrong."
Initial quality of the new vehicle is reported as the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership, with a lower score indicating higher quality.
Kia ranked the highest in the overall initial quality for the second consecutive year with a score of 72 PP100. Genesis (77 PP100) ranks second overall followed by Porsche (78 PP100).
Truly, this is one of the reasons why India needs Kia Motors, with its focus on quality over quantity.
DriveSpark Thinks!
As vehicle numbers grow by leaps and bounds in India, we need cars which are conscious of quality as well as excellent post sales service. Kia Motors with its current credentials has made the right choice to enter the Indian automobile market.
