Delivery Of Jeep Compass Petrol Variants To Start Soon In India
Jeep India is all set to commence the delivery of petrol variants of the Compass.
Jeep India commenced the production of the petrol variants of the Compass last month. Now, TeamBHP has spotted the new variant of the SUV at a dealership.
Jeep Compass was launched in the Indian market in July 2017, but the automaker commenced the production in a phased manner starting with the diesel trim.
The Jeep Compass is available in three petrol and seven diesel trim levels. With the production already commenced, the deliveries of the petrol variants of the SUV is expected to start soon.
Reports suggest that the delivery of Jeep Compass petrol variants will begin by this month. Apart from the automatic variant, the dealerships have also started accepting bookings for the petrol manual variant for a booking amount of Rs 50,000.

The waiting period for the petrol variant stands at around three months. The petrol version of the Compass draws power from a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine producing 160bhp and 250Nm of torque. The Sport trim comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Limited and Limited Option variants come with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
The petrol variants of the Jeep Compass misses out on the four-wheel-drive system. The automaker will also introduce the automatic gearbox in the diesel variant of the SUV at a later date.
Currently, India is the manufacturing hub for the Jeep Compass. The SUV is produced at the Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra. The locally produce Compass is also exported to several right-hand-drive foreign markets.
