Datsun Redi-GO Facelift To Be Launched In India Soon
The Datsun Redi-GO facelift will be powered by a 1-litre engine mated to an Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox.
Datsun launched its entry level hatchback in India back in June 2016 and followed it with a limited edition Redi-GO Sports version in September in the same year.

As per reports from Overdrive, Datsun is readying a facelifted version of the Redi-GO to be launched in the coming months. Along with the facelift, the Datsun Redi-GO will be powered by a 1-litre engine offered with an AMT gearbox.

The Datsun Redi-GO is based on the same underpinnings of the Renault Kwid CMF-A platform. Renault Kwid is positioned as a more premium offering, while the Datsun Redi-GO was aimed at buyers looking for a spacious yet affordable entry-level hatchback.

However, the Datsun Redi-GO facelift is expected to add some premium bits to heighten its appeal. The current Datsun Redi-GO is powered by the 799cc petrol unit which churns out 53bhp and 7Nm of torque. The motor is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Datsun is expected to offer the same 1-litre engine powering the Renault Kwid to the Redi-GO facelift model. The 999cc engine produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque which comes with the choice of either the 5-speed manual gearbox or the AMT unit.

Datsun will offer the same configuration on the Redi-GO facelift when launched in India. Once launched, the Redi-GO facelift will find stiff competition from Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Hyundai Eon.
