Volkswagen Recalls e-Golf Electric Cars

By Dennis

Volkswagen has recalled 5,561 examples of the e-Golf made between May 21, 2014, and March 1, 2016.

The affected e-Golf models have an issue with their high-voltage battery management system which may falsely detect an electric surge and shut down the motor and stall the cars.

Volkswagen has already started the recall for the affected vehicles and customers can simply bring their e-Golf's to the dealerships where Volkswagen will update the battery management software to fix the issue, free of charge.

The company hasn't received any reports about deaths and injuries caused by the issue but it is yet another source of embarrassment for the German carmaker following the scandal caused by the diesel emissions scandal.
