Maruti Suzuki launched its first premium hatchback in India a few months ago, called the Baleno. The Baleno is sold exclusively through the NEXA outlets in the country. Now the premium hatchback commands a long waiting period of six months in the Indian market.

At this moment, Maruti Suzuki has over 70,000 bookings for the Baleno model. The premium hatchback made its global debut in India and will be exported to several international markets. The Baleno is the very first product that will be made in India and exported back to Japan.

The Japanese-based automobile manufacturer has decided to make India its global manufacturing hub. Maruti Suzuki will be exporting several of its upcoming models from India to several markets including Europe. Several other markets are still to get the Baleno, which will boost Suzuki's global sales.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki Baleno sold more models compared to its closest rival, the Hyundai Elite i20 premium hatchback. The next few months will witness a major growth in terms of sales within the segment for Maruti Suzuki.

The base model of Maruti Suzuki Baleno costs Rs. 5.11 lakh for the petrol variant. Diesel model of the Baleno starts at a price of Rs. 6.21 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Maruti Suzuki has introduced its premium hatchback at extremely competitive prices in the Indian market.
