Honda Amaze Crosses 200,000 Sales Mark In India
Honda has achieved an important milestone in India, by selling 200,000 units of its compact sedan, the Amaze. The Amaze was launched in 2013, with the brand's first diesel engine and made for India. Honda has seen good sales of the Amaze and this milestone only proves that better.
Honda also launched the facelifted version of the Amaze in March this year, to keep the car fresh and up to date with modern day design. The new car sports a bolder front design compared to the older generation model.
The Honda Amaze is powered by a choice of either a petrol or a diesel engine. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre power plant that makes 87bhp and 109Nm of torque. The engine comes paired to a manual as well as an automatic gearbox, while returning a mileage of 17.8km/l.
The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit, that makes 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. The diesel variant is offered with a manual gearbox only, and returns a mileage of 25.8km/l.
Commenting on the Amaze's sales milestone, Jnaneswar Sen, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, at Honda Cars India Ltd., said, "Honda Amaze has established itself as a very successful entry sedan in the Indian market. During the span of 3 years, it has achieved sales milestone of 200,000 units bringing new customers into Honda fold."
"The car has been extremely popular in both big and smaller cities due to its strong value offering and Honda's core strengths of quality, durability and reliability. We are extremely thankful to all our customers for their continuous support and faith in the brand."
