Audi Confirms Company’s R&D Boss Will Leave The Firm

Earlier, we reported that Audi's R&D Chief Stefan Knirsch will be suspended over Volkswagen's emission scandal. Now, the carmaker has confirmed that the company's technical head, Stefan Knirsch will quit his post with immediate effect.

Last week, there were reports about Stefan Knirsch that he knew about the cheat device used in the 3.0-litre diesel engines. Knirsch also gave a false promise under oath.

Audi too, admitted that the company had used a cheat device in the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines. This came to light in the US, where the entire Volkswagen Diesel Gate scandal was brought to light.

Regarding Stefan Knirsch, Audi said that he would leave the company in agreement with the supervisory board, without giving any further reasons.
