Volkswagen To Launch 21st Century Beetle In India On December 19

Volkswagen India has been teasing us with the launch of its 21st century Beetle for a while now. Bookings for the iconic hatchback began a while ago through their dedicated website. Now, Volkswagen confirms that its new Beetle will be launched in the country on December 19, 2015.

Under the hood of Volkswagen's new Beetle is a 1.4-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. Volkswagen engineers have tuned the engine to produce 149 bhp. The hatchback's engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic DSG transmission. Internationally the model is offered with few more engine options.

The new Beetle by Volkswagen will be available in four body colour options. Customers can choose between Orange, Blue, Red, and White. Volkswagen is sure to provide all these colour options with special names.

The 21st Century Beetle will drive on 16-inch alloy wheels. Up front, Volkswagen has provided bi-xenon headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights. A chrome package will be on offer for both interior as well as the exterior of the vehicle.

Interior will be offered with a choice between three ambient colour options. Volkswagen will also be providing the Beetle with KESSY or keyless access and push button start. New Beetle also gets panoramic sunroof and leather interiors for a premium and luxurious feel.

21st century Volkswagen Beetle will come to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). We believe, the iconic hatchback to be priced within Rs. 25 lakh ex-showroom. Stay tuned for more details from Volkswagen India.
