DriveSpark Dispatch: 10 Most Searched Cars On DriveSpark In 2015
Buying a new car has become easy in the modern world, and customers have become very advanced. Unlike the a few years ago, when customers had to go to a dealership to find out details about a car they are interested in, everything is available online these days.
When a customer is interested in buying a particular vehicle, all he or she has to do is just look it up on the internet. Every little detail is available, including the on-road price of a particular car, exactly like how Drivespark has it.
So here is a list of 10 most searched automobiles on DriveSpark in 2015.
The Alto may be the best selling vehicle in India, but not the most searched for vehicle in India. It could be two reasons, one, people already know enough about the Maruti Suzuki Alto, or the interest for the model is decreasing.
At number nine is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is competition with the Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio, and the Renault Lodgy. Maruti Suzuki saw the potential in the Indian market for the MUV/ MPV segment that was dominated by Toyota, and came with its own offering, the Ertiga.
Taking the eighth position is the Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback, that is placed in between the now ageing Hyundai i10 and the elite i20. The Grand i10 is offered with a 4-cylinder petrol engine or a 3-cylinder diesel engine, with an automatic option too.
7. Hyundai Eon
In the seventh place comes another Hyundai, the Eon. The Eon is Hyundai's entry-level car and competes with models like the Marti Alto and the Renault Kwid. The Eon is offered with two engine options, both being petrol but with different states of tuning.
6. Honda City
The Honda City takes the sixth place and is the best selling car for the Japanese carmaker. Honda made its presence strong in India with the City, which was sold as a petrol variant only. Later, Honda introduced a diesel engine, which has strengthened its sales further.
Taking the fifth place is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which was the first Maruti product to be introduced with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). Also, the Celerio was the first Maruti model to feature a diesel engine developed in-house by the carmaker itself.
4. Toyota Innova
The Toyota Corolla may be the carmaker's best selling product in the world, but this is India, and the Innova is the best seller here. The Toyota Innova caters to the need of large families as well as taxi services, which has made the Innova a best selling product in India.
At number three comes the mighty Scorpio. The Mahindra Scorpio is offered in different variants, that target hard core off roading enthusiasts to customers looking for an automatic SUV. The Scorpio has a perfect balance between power, versatility, and economy.
2. Honda Amaze
Coming at number two is the Honda Amaze. The compact sedan was specifically designed for India, and featured Honda's i-DTEC diesel engine first, which slowly made its way under the hood of the City, Jazz, and the Mobilio. The Amaze competes with the Swift Dzire, Ford Figo Aspire, and the Hyundai Xcent in the Indian market.
The most searched for vehicle on DriveSpark is the Mahindra Bolero. The Bolero continues to be the best selling SUV in India. in spite of its boxy design and limited handling. What really makes the Bolero a winner is the fact that the vehicle is a very capable all-rounder.
