Maruti Suzuki Celerio Engine And Performance

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Engine And Performance

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as seen on some of the other hatchbacks in the company`s lineup. This engine churns out 68bhp and 90Nm of torque; mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and Maruti`s Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is also offered with a CNG variant as well. This includes the same CNG technology as seen on the Alto K10. The CNG-powered engine produces 58bhp and 78Nm of torque; mated to the same five-speed manual transmission unit.

The performance from the engine is linear. The engine is easily able to pull the weight of the car, offering decent performance at low and mid-revs. The engine does get a bit more vocal towards the higher-revs while also running out of breadth. Clutch is light and offers smooth gearshift which easily slot into place.

The combination of the engine, light clutch and gearbox (manual or automatic) is perfect for the city. There is little to no stress on the engine, during your regular city runs and in stop-and-go traffic conditions.
