New Ford Endeavour To Launch In India Prior To 2016 Auto Expo

Ford will be introducing its all-new Endeavour in India prior to the 2016 Auto Expo in February. Bookings are expected to begin across the country by December 2015 and deliveries could begin as early as January 2016. Previously, Ford India was planning to launch new Endeavour at the 2016 Auto Expo.

2016 Endeavour is currently on sale in several markets as the Ford Everest. In India, the Ford Endeavour will be introduced as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) model. The new Endeavour will be manufactured in Thailand and will be imported to India in various parts.

Powering the 2016 Ford Endeavour SUV will be an option between a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 148bhp, mated to an optional 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The second will be a 3.2-litre, five-cylinder diesel engine developing 197bhp and will be paired only to an automatic transmission.

In terms of safety, 2016 Endeavour will be equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hill Hold, traction control, dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags.

The 2016 Ford Endeavour will be equipped with new SYNC2 infotainment system with voice control. The SUV will also come fitted with premium equipment like an electric tailgate, electric folding third-row seats, leather upholstery and several other unique features.

New Ford Endeavour will be assembled at the Chennai facility. The 2016 Endeavour will have to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ssangyong Rexton, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
