Ford Recalls Over 450,000 Cars Over Fuel Leak Issue

Ford is recalling nearly 452,000 cars because their fuel tanks may have developed a leak.

The recall covers certain 2010 to 2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans built in Mexico from July 21, 2008 through March 4, 2011.

According to Ford, a valve on the refueling vapour recovery canister can get stuck, causing repeated changes in the air pressure inside the fuel tank, which can eventually cause a crack on top of the tank and possible fuel leakage.

There are about 411,000 affected vehicles in the United States, 34,000 in Canada and 7,000 in Mexico. Ford said there have been no reported injuries related to the potential fueal leak defect.
