Maruti All-Set To Launch A Limited Edition Of The Swift
Maruti Swift Glory edition will be launched in India on 6 October 2015. This popular hatchback from Maruti will receive only cosmetic updates: a red roof and wing mirrors, side skirts and a rear spoiler, racing stripes, decals on the side, and blackened C-Pillars. The interior has been given some treatment as well; customers will now get dual-tone red and black upholstery for the seats, gear cover, and the steering wheel.
The Swift Glory Edition will be available in limited numbers to maintain exclusivity. Maruti Suzuki will offer this limited edition version of their hatchback in petrol and diesel. It is most likely that Maruti will offer the Swift Glory Edition only in VDi and VXi trim levels.
The limited edition Swift will have no mechanical changes, and will be powered by the K-Series 1.2-litre petrol, which produces 83bhp and 115Nm of peak torque output. The petrol engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.4 km/l (ARAI figure).
The VDi trim will be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine. This engine will produce 74bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. This engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and deliver fuel efficiency of 25.2 km/l (ARAI figure).
Other special features on the Swift Glory Edition will be: engine start/stop button, steering mounted controls, auto climate control, park assist with rearview camera, special floor mats, and music system with Bluetooth.
In terms of safety equipment, Maruti Suzuki will provide the limited edition Swift with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Surprisingly, the limited edition Swift is expected to omit airbags.

The standard Maruti Suzuki Swift VXi trim costs INR 5,32,305 and VDi trim is priced at 6,22,661 ex-showroom (Delhi). We expect the Swift Glory Edition to be priced at an additional INR 50,000 owing to its limited edition status. Maruti is also expected to launch the Ertiga facelift and the Baleno premium hatchback during this month.
