Waiting Period Alert: Maruti Baleno Waiting Period Increased
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback now has a waiting period of over 60 days. The Baleno was launched in India on September 26, 2015.
The waiting period for the Baleno affects the entire range of variants of the premium hatchback. Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers four variants, which are Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha for the Indian market.
Several NEXA dealerships have stopped accepting bookings for the base variant Baleno (Sigma). Showroom owners are now pushing sales of the top-of-the-line Baleno models.
Baleno is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is mated to an optional 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki also offers a diesel-powered Baleno with a 1.3-litre engine, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
This premium hatchback competes with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz in India's premium hatchback segment. The Baleno is a global offering and will be manufactured in India and offered in several developed markets.
The premium hatchback is offered in seven colours, which are Ray Blue, Fire Red, Metallic Premium Silver, Premium Urban Blue, Autumn Orange, Granite Grey, and Pearl Arctic White.
Maruti Suzuki provides the Baleno with essential safety equipment such as dual front airbags and ABS as a standard safety equipment across variants and is also offered with a manufacturer's warranty of two years or 40,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
