All-New Maruti Baleno Records Phenomenal Bookings Since Launch: Report

Maruti Suzuki's Baleno premium hatchback witnesses over 21,000 bookings within 16 days of launch. The Baleno launched in the Indian market on October 26, 2015. Maruti's premium hatchback is sold exclusively through their new and premium vehicle outlet called ‘NEXA'.

NEXA dealerships have also recorded over 50,000 footfalls since the launch of the Baleno. Sales and bookings are expected to hit the roof during this festive season in India. Maruti's Baleno is expected to become the segment leader of premium hatchbacks soon.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki customers for the Baleno are facing a waiting period of almost six weeks. At this moment, the manufacturer is focussing on domestic demand and will commence export once waiting periods reduce.

The Baleno premium hatchback is priced aggressively in the Indian market. The base petrol variant costs Rs. 4.99 lakh and the base diesel variant has a price tag of Rs. 6.16 lakh.

The top-of-the-line petrol variant of the Baleno prices start at Rs. 7.01 lakh and the equivalent diesel model costs Rs. 8.11 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The petrol engine returns a mileage of 21.4 km/l while the diesel engine returns a mileage of 27.39 km/l.

In India, Maruti Suzuki Baleno competes with the likes of the Honda Jazz and Hyundai's Elite i20. The Baleno is a global offering from Suzuki, and exports will soon begin from India to several developed markets. Suzuki is also planning on making India its global export hub for several models.
