Volkswagen Rallycross Beetle Revealed
Volkswagen will enter an all wheel drive Rallycross Beetle in U.S motorsport competitions. It will feature a TSI engine generating 560 hp power. The race Beetle was revealed at recent Chicago Auto Show.
The German car manufacture will partner with Andretti Autosport. They will form Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team and will take part with two cars.

The team drivers are Tanner Foust and Scott Speed however, this season they will participate with modified Polo cars. They will switch to the GRC Beetle mid-season.

The Beetle Rallycross will have all wheel drive. It will feature a direct-injection TSI engine, which will produce 560 hp with the help of a turbocharger.

The car used for rally will look identical to on-road, street legal Beetle's however, a huge rear spoiler marks it apart. The Rallycross version has a nice black and yellow paint scheme with little red over it.

Side view of the Rallycross Beetle is the best angle to see the car. It looks totally different from it's street legal sibling. The rear spoiler is as high as the car. It can be noticed the suspension and ride height is lowered too.

The Rallycross version has a wide body kit and race alloy wheels. Double exhaust in the centre adds a sport touch. The car looks sporty and will be driven by Tanner Foust and Scott Speed.

Rallycross is a form of motorsports, which originated in U.S. Cars compete against each other and against the clock. The closed circuit is a mix of dirt and asphalt. It also features jumps of over 20 metres.
